Pōneke-based collective / imprint Sonorous Circle have re-emerged with a snazzy new post-lockdown fit, touting "new music, new website, new beginning" including a freshly unveiled collection from Voronoi, the project of itinerant artist, writer, and electronic musician Richard B. Keys (VMR). Bathed in atmospheric ambience, the four meditative tracks on Voronoi's Mountains & Rivers articulate virtual geographic spaces between places, reflecting Key's own current dislocated state of affairs (he is about to experience two weeks of quarantine as he re-enters Aotearoa from Australia) via the deft deployment of a richly textured mixture of synthesis, field recording and electro-acoustic manipulation. Club dwellers may be buoyed by occasional exuberant ravey sample snatches bubbling up through the ether, as their minds detach from physical reality to explore the sonic vistas offered within Mountains & Rivers...
