Love Square Share Single 'Sweet Tooth' Feat. Jamie McDell + Announce Tour
Love Square and Jamie McDell serve up your recommended daily sugar intake in their groovy new collaboration 'Sweet Tooth'. The jazzy single is loaded with golden syrup alto sax from Callum Passels, and Love Square's Nick Atkinson drives the pop track home with layers of bass synth and addictive percussion. 'Sweet Tooth' is the second release in a "musical trilogy describing the arc of a love triangle", the first being last year's 'Where Does It Go' with Milly Tabek, and the third and final 'Hey Yo' to be released later this year with Tabek's return. Atkinson performs Love Square live as a trio, including Finn Scholes (Carnivorous Plant Society) and Karen Hu on percussion, and they'll be hitting the road this month and next for a mini tour. Read the run down below, and press play on the new tune to see what all the fuss is about...

Freida Margolis and Love Square invite you to their first concert of the season! This will be an outstandingly intimate affair. It's possible one of you will be seated next to Finn Scholes on his piano stool! You'll be able to ash your cigarillo into Nick Atkinson's saxophone bell or park your negroni on Karen Hu's snare drum....momentarily. Quick take a sip, as Karen's about to flam a wee rim-shot right up in your aroma!
Love Square is the city's gleaming new trio, a merry-go-round of trumpets, pianos, percussion and woodwinds. The repertoire is composed by Scholes and Atkinson drawing from their enthusiasm for the music of the Caribbean, Eurasia, Ethiopia, Louisiana and the Pacific. The corner of Hakanoa Street and Richmond Road will be set alight once more to the sound of brass and beats!
