Mazbou Q Shares 'Bruised Soles' Feat. NY Rapper Regi Angelou
Nigerian-Kiwi rap artist and producer Mazbou Q fka Unchained XL has rolled out an outstanding piece of guitar wailing hip hop with rising New York rapper / poet Regi Angelou. Already this year Mazbou Q, the moniker of Hugh Ozumba, has released his bangin' Afroternity EP, but the new track 'Bruised Soles' takes a swift turn into fuzzed out dystopian rap meets blues rock, best explained by Ozumba as "something like Mad Max crossed with Bad Boys". The pair bonded via Instagram over the shared experience of pursuing creative careers a little later in life, Mazbou Q having once been a software engineer and Angelou spending most of her time as an educator activist in Queens, NY. Tāmaki Makaurau via Ōtepoti songwriter Jarni Blair wrangles the gnarly guitar solo in 'Bruised Soles', loaded with distortion and fuzz. This is a track for lovers of Kanye's 'Gorgeous' or Beyonce's Jack White collab; a track equal parts hip-hop, blues and garage-rock...
'Bruised Soles' is streamable now via Spotify.
