Glass Vaults Share DIY Dance Video For 'Oils & Perfume'
Aotearoa sonic adventurers Glass Vaults reveal an eye-popping "Lockdown edition" video for their bouncy new single 'Oils & Perfume', the infectious first taste of third studio album Sounds that sound like music. Our contemporary obsession with "bubbles" has no doubt led to a resurgence of interest in the work of German philosopher Peter Sloterdijk, who explored ideas surrounding Bubbles, Globes and Foams in his three volume magnum opus Spheres. Glass Vaults put their own spin on the theme with a pleasingly lo-tech animated clip directed by band member Rowan Pierce, who recruited a small army of dancer friends to film themselves busting moves in their locked down homes, inspired by TikTok DIY dance videos and choreographed by Sripromma. That footage was then transformed via post-production wizardry into the pulsating clip below. Experience the groove-worshipping 'Oils & Perfume', get amongst it on Glass Vault's TikTok page here (they invite you to accept the #oilsandperfumechallenge), and stay tuned for Sounds that sound like music later this year...
