Shabazz Palaces Drop New Album 'The Don Of Diamond Dreams'
Seattle hip hop experimentalists Shabazz Palaces, the project of Ishmael Butler (formerly of Digable Planets and father of emo-rap prodigy Lil Tracy) with "levitational assists" from Tendai 'Baba' Maraire and a team of guests, today reveal their first studio long player since 2017's double album drop Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star and Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines. On the excellently titled The Don of Diamond Dreams, Butler throws down third ear expanding wordplay over deeply zoned beat production and liquid funk, delivering nothing less than an interstellar excursion to the outer boundaries of rap wizardry. We'll be bumping this one all weekend at least, get to grips with The Don of Diamond Dreams right here...
'The Don of Diamond Dreams' is out now via Sub Pop.
