The Streets + Tame Impala Drop Single 'Call My Phone...'
UK wordsmith Mike Skinner's recently reactivated The Streets project throw listeners a timely curveball today with 'Call My Phone Thinking I’m Doing Nothing Better', a social distancing soundclash featuring none other than Perth psych-pop guru Tame Impala aka Kevin Parker. The eyebrow-raising collab is the first cut revealed from The Streets' new mixtape None of Us Are Getting Out of This Life Alive, dropping in mid-July and slated to feature a host of special guests including IDLES. While the new song's been met with a polarised reception from early listeners thus far, we love the musical collision between the two giants. Each artist's creative bubbles remain safely intact, with Parker's dreamy choruses sounding beamed in from halfway across the planet, complimenting Skinner's lonesome wordplay over club-rattling production. Despite the lyrical content it's clear nobody's phoning this one in [hoho], watch the crisp accompanying clip starring both artists below...
'None Of Us Are Getting Out Of This Life Alive' releases on Friday 10th July via Island.
