Shabazz Palaces Drop Single 'Fast Learner' Feat. Purple Tape Nate
C.C. / Thursday 27th February, 2020 1:02PM
Seattle experimental hip hop duo Shabazz Palaces, the team of Ishmael Butler (formerly of Digable Planets and father of rap-country pioneer Lil Tracy) and Tendai 'Baba' Maraire, return with the lead single from The Don of Diamond Dreams – their awesomely titled first studio long player since 2017's double album drop Quazarz: Born on a Gangster Star and Quazarz vs. The Jealous Machines. Propelled forwards by Purple Tape Nate's frictionless auto-tuned vocals, 'Fast Learner' radiates cosmic power via widescreen sci-fi funk grooves, deeply echoed percussion and head-spinning abstract sound shapes. Give 'Fast Learner' a whirl here and stay tuned for the whole album in April...
'The Don of Diamond Dreams' is out on Friday 17th April via Sub Pop.
