Premiere: Louisa Nicklin Shares Single 'Pour It Down'
Louisa Nicklin returns with another sombre track, the second from her upcoming debut EP When Are You Home. The Tāmaki Makaurau songwriter plays with water symbolism in 'Pour It Down', and the lyrics focus "around someone who is at the end of their life", or who has used up the very last drops from their metaphorical cup. Nicklin's powerful, hushed voice commands attention, and is what I imagine it would be like to have Sarah Mary Chadwick whisper her songs right in your ear. When Are You Home dives into Nicklin's life over the past two years, and if this and 'The Residue' are anything to go by, it's an EP to get excited about.
