Emily Edrosa Announces Debut Solo Album + Homecoming NZ Show
Currently based in Los Angeles, Emily Edrosa is returning to Aotearoa this summer for a homecoming headline event at Tāmaki Makaurau's Whammy Backroom, and has revealed today the upcoming release of her hugely anticipated debut album Another Wave is Coming. The songwriting force behind 2017 Taite Music Prize winners Street Chant, Edrosa's new record "is a meditation on the isolation and disorientation of transporting a life across the ocean," self recorded in Eagle Rock, mixed by John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth, Waxahatchee) and releasing via US imprint Park The Van. Demo recordings of fresh material shared via Soundcloud over the past couple of years have hinted at even more great things to come – the artist will be back in NZ cooking up new songs and prepping the launch of her own yet-to-be-named independent label. Edrosa recently shared her excitement about her new songs via Twitter...
"I signed a record deal last month (more bout that soon) and since then I’ve written 12 real real good songs. They just came outta me. Very cool how freeing and nice it is to know someone believes in you."
