Eartheater (NYC) New Zealand Show Announced
We're back in the office after a relaxing (and apocalyptic orange-sky tinted) festive break. One of the most exciting announcements unfurled over the holiday period was Tāmaki Makaurau's party-enabling collective Community Garden are bringing New York City's Eartheater to our shores, to perform a one-night-only headline event in late January. The project of Queens-based multi-instrumentalist, composer and vocalist Alexandra Drewchin, Eartheater has released via such paradigm-shifting international imprints as PAN Records and Hausu Mountain and collaborated with Show Me The Body, AceMo and Moor Mother, with a sonically diverse output encompassing transcendental club-focussed experimentalism, classical, folk and contemporary pop. Hot on the heels of her 2019 album Trinity, you can experience Eartheater live this summer with support from our own Blood Mothers and DJ Sweat – scope out the details right here...

Press release:
Community Garden is elated to welcome New York City’s very own Eartheater to Tāmaki Makaurau.
Alexandra Drewchin has maintained a constant creative evolution in her work; from her earliest guitar-focussed performances, across her thorough line of classically-toned expression, and further on to her club-edged latest solo album Trinity - with her unfeigned three octave vocal range providing a constant source of dolorous, elegant emotionality throughout.
She has collaborated with Show Me The Body, AceMo, PAN Records, Moor Mother, and Hausu Mountain as well as a host of other bastions of new movement. In these projects Eartheater fosters ideas of current mythology, physical linguistics and poetic tensions. A contemporary artist of the truest heart.
We are most lucky to welcome Eartheater to Whammy Bar on January 25th, for her only show in Aotearoa. With support from Blood Mothers and DJ Sweat.
