Lineup Revealed For Not Woodcock Festival 2020

Tauranga’s iconic festival of all things loud, vulgar and unrepentant Woodcock is not returning in 2020. Looking towards the future, newly rebranded organisers Not Tauranga Music Sucks have instead lifted the lid on Not Woodcock, "a fresh, original and innovative concept for the modern music event." Happening over two stages, the bold new summer festival will feature riff-slingers from throughout the world and a bevy of locals – including China’s psych rock mavericks Mirrors解离的真实, explosive US garage rockers The Schizophonics, Dunedin boogie board champions Koizilla, Hamilton’s raucous punk rockers Contenders and Auckland wine punks Tooms. Bigger things. Better things. Honestly, you have to let Woodcock go because it is never coming back and your pathetic pleas are becoming pretty pithy...

With that in mind we couldn't be more thrilled to announce and welcome you all to attend the first annual Not Woodcock.

Not Woodcock is an exciting and essential addition to the summer festival calendar. A fresh, original and innovative concept for the modern music event. Attendees to our inaugural fest will be wowed and awed by our teams creativity, effort and dedication for dynamic progression to facilitate a festival experience without compare.

Most important to any festival looking to establish identity is venue. Because of this our dedicated team have spent the last two years scouting the country looking for the ultimate party setting. And for you we have found the perfect place to get away and become who and what you really want to be at our new state of the art facility that is Not Willies across the road from Willies at 92 Williams Road North, Pyes Pa Tauranga.

While it would be safe to lean upon the past success of Woodcock we cannot in good conscience reference or return to our former glories. Even if it were for the greater prosperity of our new venture . So rather than borrowing ideas, the Not Woodcock think tank have instead set about revolutionising the festival format so as to not just be like every other prosaic/living in the past Williams Road North festival.

Not Woodcock are very proud to do things differently:

Not 45 plus bands - Only 25 plus bands.

Not 4 stages - Only two stages.

Not christening stages with juvenile names like ‘The Shit Cunt Sand Pit’ - Only sophisticated stages like ‘The Shit Cunt Hay Barn’.

Not any Dicks - Only Verne.

Not at Willies - Only across the road at Framer Adrians. Camping available.
