Watch Pickle Darling's Video For 'Nights That Won't Happen'
Ōtautahi’s Pickle Darling recently featured on Late Homework, a tribute album celebrating the music of late songwriter David Berman (Silver Jews, Purple Mountains), alongside international artists Frankie Cosmos (as Franz Charcoal), Emperor X, Hello Shark, Little Pink and a long list of others. A week after its release, Pickle Darling aka Lukas Mayo shares a dappled Martin Sagadin-directed video for his cover of Purple Mountains’ 'Nights That Won't Happen' that takes the viewer on a serene walk around Christchurch’s willow-lined rivers. The clip is reflective, touching on the literal reflection within a song that ponders death and loss, and lingers on light bouncing off the Avon River, light filtering through leaves and purple light in a dusky sky. Take a moment to watch the moody visuals, and check out the rest of Late Homework, the profits of which all go towards Shatterproof, a US charity dedicated to finding science based treatments for substance abuse disorders.
'Late Homework - The Songs of David Berman' is out now on Dear Life Records.
