Press release:
On the last weekend of October, we'll be celebrating another year of Whammy!
Thanks to everyone who's worked, booked, played, partied at and supported Whammy in any way for the last 12 years. Here's to another one!
Held across the weekend of October 25/26 2019 is the annual Whammyfest. We have carefully curated two nights and three stages of 20+ bands and DJs ranging from punk-rock, rock'n'roll, folk, rock, rap, electronica and house. Whammyfest celebrates the diversity of artists that perform at Whammy! and the Backroom each and every week.
The 2019 line-up features artists from Tamaki Makaurau, Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Ōtautahi, Kirikiriroa and for the first time, we have an international artist joining the festivities. Twelve acts will perform each night across three stages in both Whammy and the Backroom.
