Mermaidens Share New Album 'Look Me In The Eye' + Announce National Tour
Pōneke's Mermaidens have launched their keenly anticipated, edge-of-your-seat third studio collection Look Me In The Eye and are celebrating with a four date Aotearoa release tour happening this October. The genre-defying follow-up to Gussie Larkin, Lily West and Abe Hollingsworth's Taite Music Prize-nominated 2017 long player Perfect Body was recorded in collaboration with audio engineer James Goldsmith (who also produced Beastwars' chart-topping latest album IV) – walking a sonic tightrope through zones of biting post-punk, reflective dream-pop and vertiginous math-rock. Speaking about Look Me In The Eye with The Spinoff, Larkin enthused "This album really feels like the work that we’re happiest with, it’s kind of the sound we’ve been striving for but maybe haven’t had the technical ability, studio experience and money to execute." Dive deep into a stream of Mermaidens' new record, experience a gripping live clip for album track 'Priorities' filmed at Worser Bay Surf Life Saving Club, and catch them in your area this October...
