Stream Bon Iver's Fourth Studio Album 'i,i'
The experimental pop of Bon Iver returns with their fourth studio album i,i, a collection made for autumn. For anyone even a little bit familiar with Bon Iver and front person Justin Vernon’s songwriting, the latest studio album is just as crushingly sweet and emotionally heavy as their last three. i,i feels like a return to their self-titled 2011 album, with less of the crunch and mess of 22, A Million (and song titles that can actually be said aloud), and more of the stripped back, earnest, hot-headed songwriting of Bon Iver – save for Vernon’s dependable use of auto-tune. Ahead of today's digital drop the US group shared a mini documentary, diving deep into the story of Bon Iver’s collaborators and how i,i came to fruition.
Of the album, Justin Vernon said, "It feels very much like the most adult record, the most complete. It feels like when you get through all this life, when the sun starts to set, and what happens is you start gaining perspective. And then you can put that perspective into more honest, generous work."
Soundtrack your day with i,i – and set a reminder for the special physical release in late August…
