Listen To Carnivorous Plant Society's New Album 'The People Below'
Tāmaki Makaurau's Carnivorous Plant Society have just wrapped up an absolutely epic run of shows, bringing their inimitable brand of "Mexican fantasy music" to venues big and small throughout Aotearoa. They celebrated the launch of their brand new album The People Below over the weekend, released in conjunction with a graphic novel of the same name created by multi-talented bandleader Finn Scholes, who's also responsible for the wild animated visuals featured in their music videos. The richly recorded and arranged The People Below opens up an inter-dimensional portal for listeners to explore CPS's gloriously imaginative, multifaceted and frolicsome world of sound, with special guests including Tiny Ruins, Lawrence Arabia, Mimsy Cable, Lisa Crawley and Tim Stewart popping by to lend a hand on selected tunes. You can catch the the group in action (and hopefully grab a graphic novel while you're at it) at 95bFM's all-ages Drive Island event on Friday 16th August with Créme Jéan, and taking over the stage at Karangahape Road's The Others Way festival in late August...
'The People Below' graphic novel can be ordered direct from CPS's Bandcamp page, and comes with a download code for their new album – grab your own copy here.
