Hybrid Rose Shares New Album 'Awkwardly Eccentric' + Video 'No Vacancy'

Pōneke electronic artist Hybrid Rose aka Rose Muollo-Gray has returned with her third studio album Awkwardly Eccentric, delivering on the fizzy promise of a wave of student radio-dominating singles following the release of 2018's Warhol. Recent tracks 'Solitude' (featuring regular collaborator Fanfickk), 'Dream Team' and 'Pearl' (feat. Jahleel) return on the collection, alongside an instrumental reimagining of Fanfickk's 'Cotton Candy' and a bevy of fresh dancefloor slammers. Highlights among the new material include the italo-infused sturm and klang of 'No Vacancy', celestial club anthem 'Heaven Spills' (with Emily Riordan), and 'Take The Shame's hook-powered cyber pop. Hybrid Rose describes Awkwardly Eccentric as "a celebration of the personalised aspects of a human”, and has unveiled today a generous helping of Bandcamp-exclusive bonus tracks plus a self-directed video for 'No Vacancy' – inviting viewers into a high energy, virtual realm of 3D cosmic landscapes and psychedelic green screen shenanigans.

Hybrid Rose explained: “When I started this project, I was at a point where I felt really lost. I didn't have a lot of friends and I had just come out of a relationship. I asked myself "What am I doing with myself?! f*cking hell, get it together" - so I decided to make a really fun happy project that celebrates all the aspects of myself and what makes me, well, me and how Hybrid Rose comes into that.”
