Olumpus Share New Album 'Caucus'
Tāmaki Makaurau-based noiseniks Olumpus, helmed by Stefan Neville (Pumice) with Kraus, have unleashed Caucus, a wig-flipping companion album to February's Surplus featuring a plethora of guest collaborators from across the globe. Artists lending their talents to the 14 track opus include Trendees frontman Matt Plunkett on three songs, Demarnia Lloyd-Harris (Cloudboy, Mink), Richard Youngs, Cutts aka Sjionel Timu (Coolies), Dan Melchior, Indira Neville (Biscuits), Ducklingmonster (Futurians), Jade Farley, Mr Sterile and Liz Matthews (Hex). Caucus also sees the long-awaited release of the super catchy 'Rotting In My Room', co-sung by Bek Coogan (Oonaverse, Cortina), which was an infectious yet maddeningly un-locatable local student radio staple a year or so ago.
Lovers of the ear-tickling and mind-frying sonics on display will be no-doubt stoked to hear Stefan Neville is playing a special live event with NZ punk and DIY figurehead Chris Knox, performing "stylophone & bongos versions of the first Tall Dwarfs EP" together next Thursday at Point Chevalier Library. Memorise the details for that exciting free show here, and dive into Caucus below...
Thursday 25th July - Point Chevalier Library, Auckland, 1.00pm start (free show)
