Bon Iver Announce New Album + Share Singles 'Faith' & 'Jelmore'
Bon Iver, fronted by US songwriter Justin Vernon, have unveiled two singles 'Faith' and 'Jelmore' heralding the August launch of their fourth studio album i,i,. Recorded in West Texas and Wisconsin, the upcoming long player features a bevy of guest contributors including James Blake, Moses Sumney, Brad and Phil Cook (Megafaun), Aaron and Bryce Dessner (The National), Channy Leaneagh (Polica), Velvet Negroni, and producer Marta Salogni. Bon Iver's soulful vocals and ear-tickling sonics on the new tunes are complimented by a fantastical pair of lyric videos you can experience below, created by the team of Aaron Anderson and Eric Timothy Carlson.
Justin Vernon opened up about the new LP, “It feels very much like the most adult record, the most complete... It feels like when you get through all this life, when the sun starts to set, and what happens is you start gaining perspective. And then you can put that perspective into more honest, generous work.
The title of the record can mean whatever it means to you or me. It can mean deciphering and bolstering one’s identity. It can be how important the self is and how unimportant the self is, how we’re all connected.”
'i,i,' releases on Friday 30th August via Jagjaguwar / Rhythmethod.
