Listen To Aporia's Luxurious Single 'Psychic Driving'
Berlin-based electronic pop fantasists Aporia (helmed by ex-Aucklander Mitchell James) have re-emerged with 'Psychic Driving', a lush lead cut from their upcoming sophomore album Hotel Aporia. Conjuring luxurious mental visions of sub-tropical vistas and sips in the shade, the smooth-grooving tune delivers a deeply intoxicating blend of holographic keys, transcendental vocals and propulsive percussion. The song sets an evocative scene for the new record, inspired by the group's core trio of Mitch, Nick and Alia's shared love of 50s exotica and indie-infused balearic rhythms – promising to bring "elements of old Hollywood drama and Lynchian mystery to the unexpected setting of a tropical beachfront hotel," and dropping this August via Fantasy Fiction and Cosmic Compositions. Aporia also recently contributed to the fabulous recent February Montaine collection, which conveys similar time-travelling vibrations. The band opened up about the ideas motivating their new record, stating "exploring our South Pacific identities within the European context of Berlin has become a central theme to the album; we are trying to create something unique whilst still working within the realms of ‘pop'".
'Hotel Aporia' is out Wednesday 21st August via Cosmic Compositions and Fantasy Fiction.
