Leisure Unveil Documentary 'Live With The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra'

While NZ dance-pop collective Leisure are currently overseas conquering Europe and the UK, they've gifted fans a short film documenting the group's 2018 collaboration with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, which took place naturally enough at Auckland Town Hall last April. Beautifully filmed by Tāmaki Makaurau creative studio Supernormal, the 20 minute documentary presents live footage of the special one-off event along with candid behind the scenes action, highlighting the challenges involved in translating the work of a six piece band into a full blown orchestral production. Live With The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra proves the fruits of Leisure's labour were successful to say the least, with tantalising snippets depicting a monumental and lush-sounding event.

The band shared their enthusiasm about the experience, stating "To sell out Auckland Town Hall and play our first album backed by the APO was an incredible experience and a career highlight for all of us. Here's a little gift from us to our fans, to remember that very special occasion.

A huge thanks to the APO, Supernormal, RNZ and everyone who made this documentary possible - a completely genuine and immersive creative experience that we are now able to relive and prove to our future grandchildren, that something this special really did happen.”

Leisure are gearing up to unleash their second studio album Twister in late July, and will be steamrolling across Aotearoa with their fresh batch of tunes this winter.
