Auckland's Lucky Boy Shares Dreamy Collection 'Honesty 2?'
To say Tāmaki Makaurau bedroom pop songwriter Lucky Boy aka Simeon Kavanagh-Vincent is a prolific emerging talent is putting it mildly. Since firing up his Bandcamp page in mid-2018, the artist has crammed it with seventeen releases including his new four track EP Honesty 2?, and has been attracting fans via such high profile slots as his recent Record Store Day performance at Marbecks Records and as a member of Being.'s live band. Lucky Boy's latest collection follows less than a month after April's nocturnal standalone number 'Moon Blue' – the ghosts of DIY innovators such as Ariel Pink and R. Stevie Moore gaze approvingly as the Auckland artist refracts everyday thoughts and feelings through a psychedelic prism of catchy guitar pop hookage, gentle dreamy vocals and sci-fi keys. You can catch Lucky Boy strutting his stuff at 95bFM's free, all-ages Drive Island event at Ellen Melville Hall on Friday 17th May (Being. are playing too), and at the station's Fancy New Band extravaganza on Friday 31st May at Whammy Bar and Wine Cellar, alongside rising stars Bb gurl, Gretel, Keith., Manuela, PollyHill, REPAIRS and SANG. Listen up to Honesty 2? here (UPDATE: he's adding tracks to the EP all through May)...
