Mary Lattimore & Julianna Barwick New Zealand Show Announced
Los Angeles harp innovator Mary Lattimore and US ambient composer Julianna Barwick are journeying to Aotearoa this June to play a special collaborative headline event at Auckland's Tuning Fork. The pair are here ahead of their appearance at Hobart's sonically adventurous Dark Mofo festival, where Lattimore and Barwick promise "radiant ambient music: layered choral symphonies, a forty-seven-string harp, synths and otherworldly vocals," which is surely a hint at what's in store for local audiences. Both artists are internationally revered in their respective aural fields – Lattimore recently released her acclaimed latest album Hundreds Of Days and a collaborative EP with Mac McCaughan, and has performed and recorded with the likes of Kurt Vile, Sharon Van Etten and Thurston Moore, while Julianna Barwick has worked with such notables as Yoko Ono, Phillip Glass, Flaming Lips and Ikue Mori. We're betting you'll need to move fast on this one...
