Dbldbl x Trapjaw Kelpie Share Album 'Chip Buddies' Part One
Auckland hip hop dynamos Dbldbl (Liam Dargaville of Cool Tan) and Trapjaw Kelpie (the visual genius behind Grits 'n Grams) have dropped the first half of their two part collaborative opus Chip Buddies. The delectable collection showcases nine tracks of next-level rhythmic constructions and ear-tickling melodies courtesy of Trapjaw Kelpie, with a helping hand and on-point rhymes on selected tracks provided by Dbldbl, plus special guest features from LVJ and yeri (of Imugi 이무기). Originally announced as one album, Dbldbl stated today Chip Buddies has been sliced into two portions due to ongoing health issues, sharing on social media "I wanted to release it all at once but my crooked back has had other plans for me lately. Fittingly this first half of our project focuses on chronic pain." You can catch the pair throwing down in celebration of their new release at Auckland's Whammy Backroom this Saturday with pals Randa and Imugi 이무기, along with a special free all ages event at the Flying Out store the same day at 4pm. Snack your ears on part one of Chip Buddies here, and stay tuned for part two...
