Phoebe Bridgers + Conor Oberst Drop Collaborative Album
US indie songwriters Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes) have joined forces under the creative umbrella of Better Oblivion Community Centre. The top secret new project was kept tightly under wraps until their self-titled debut album emerged out of the blue online last night - presenting ten carefully-crafted, heartfelt tracks documenting the two celebrated artists' synergistic ebb and flow. The underlying theme of collaboration continues throughout, with Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zinner appearing on ‘Dylan Thomas’ and ‘Dominoes’, and Carla Azar (Autolux, Jack White) fielding drum duties for a clutch of songs.
Phoebe Bridgers is no stranger to musical collectives, having recently bestowed her creative energies to indie supertrio boygenius, alongside Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, the latter of whom is returning to our shores for two shows in February. Maybe we'll get to see Bridgers play here sometime in the near future too? While we ponder that notion, listen to Better Oblivion Community Centre here...
'Better Oblivion Community Centre' is out now via Dead Oceans.
