Cindy Share Self-Titled Debut EP + Video
Auckland punk rock supergroup Cindy (featuring members of DHDFDS, Magic Factory, Cool Runnings and solo artist Roy Irwin) have unleashed their self-titled debut collection. Recorded by Darren McShane at Earwig Studios, the riotous six tracks feature blistering, guitar-driven mayhem and catchy vocal hooks aplenty, including live favourite '2 Star Restaurant'. The fearsome four-piece have laid waste to numerous local stages this year, tearing it up at Halloween's Whammyfest 2018 and 95bFM’s most recent Drive Island event. Cindy kick off their tour of Japan today with recent visitors King Brothers, and have also shared a very squinky new video for their song 'Dethamphetamine PV 1', shot by Joel Taco on VHS tape in Taupaki. We caught up with Roy Irwin who dished the dirt on the new EP and the band's current travels in Japan...
"The Cindy EP was recorded to tape at Earwig Studios and mixed and mastered by Joe Locke. We play our first show tonight with King Brothers in Kyoto. Scot has become best friends with man named Gabe who is from Chile and he is now touring with us and causing tension between the band. Otherwise tour is tight despite chronic constipation and delirium tremens from too much sake."
