The Cthulus Drop Debut Single 'Nightmare In The Sun'
Summer's almost here, and for many of us that means hitting the beach for some zinc on the nose, sand-sitting, beer-cracking, wave-riding holiday shenanigans. But if you're a member of Auckland surf-rock crew The Cthulus it could very well mean a 'Nightmare In The Sun'. Possibly a commentary on the dangers of our seriously depleted ozone layer, the Lovecraftian super city four-piece rip through an evocative instrumental number channelling the titanic influences of such sonic soothsayers as Dick Dale and The Trashmen into a sub-two minute aquatic aural adventure. Lovers of summery good times will have already marked in their calendar this Saturday's show alongside Hamilton surf legends The Hollow Grinders and garage r&b outfit Smokin' Daggers at The Wine Cellar. Slap on some sunscreen and dive into 'Nightmare In The Sun' here...
