Premiere: Wellington's Namesake Share Debut Single 'Kōwhai'
Wellington indie-pop trio namesake have unveiled their first official single 'Kōwhai', following a demo of their song 'okay' shared earlier this year. The elegant and heartfelt sonics of 'Kōwhai' wave away the gloomy winter months and give us something to look forward to for the near future - the team of Ali Burns, Eluned Evan-Adams and Teresa Collins promise a debut collection is on the way this summer. Recently spotted sharing capital city stages with the likes of girlboss, Jaggers x Lines and Slow, listeners will have to hold onto their hats for release shows as members of namesake are currently overseas. The band shared a few words on their windswept tune and upcoming plans...
"We (namesake) have an EP we plan to release in the summertime.
We are on a bit of a show hiatus as one of us is currently in Europe.
Kōwhai is about trying to turn hard heavy feelings into something else."
