Connan Mockasin Shares Smooth Single 'Charlotte's Thong'
Psychedelic superstar Connan Mockasin has snuck out new single 'Charlotte's Thong' in the lead up to the release of his keenly anticipated third studio album Jassbusters. That collection will be unveiled in October alongside a five-part self-directed film series Bostyn ’n Dobsyn, which tells the tale of "a fictional music teacher, Bostyn, and his student, Dobsyn. Mockasin plays Bostyn, while Dobsyn is played by Mockasin’s childhood next door neighbour Blake Pryor." Twenty years in the making, the film is being premiered in theatres around the world around the time of the record's launch, accompanied by live performances from the expat artist's Jassbusters band - crossed fingers they wend their way back to Aotearoa soon. Mockasin's latest song is a nine-minute pop-rock journey through smooth guitar licks and enigmatic vocal melodies, conjuring a very relaxed and subdued sonic aura, you can stream it here...
'Jassbusters' is out on Friday 12th October via Mexican Summer.
