Power Nap Drops 'Being Cool Is E.Z.' EP
Auckland electronic artist Power Nap aka Chris Cudby (full disclosure: he's also editor of this website) is back with Being Cool Is E.Z., his first solo release under that name since 2013's Eat Or Be Eaten EP on now-defunct net-label Crystal Magic Records. The former Golden Axe and Miami Beach member's two track collection roams between dance-driven grooves, echoed-out raps and distorted beat workouts. He's celebrating the release in style this Saturday at Christchurch's Space Academy, alongside Wellington's Borrowed cs and local club duo Dance Armstrong. Power Nap shared some words on his new EP...
"'Being Cool Is E.Z.' is a motivational mantra in the spirit of UK dance-rap pioneers Ian Dury and Jona Lewie, while 'Lunarlon' is inspired by a particularly lonely New Years Eve watching late night television. I've had the bassline for 'Been Cool Is E.Z.' floating around in my mind for almost a decade, so it's a great feeling to finally set it free."
