CUTSS Returns With Four Song Collection 'Paradise'
Sjionel Timu of legendary Auckland noise-punks the Coolies (as well as the Uniform collective and summer pop duo Miami Beach) has reignited her solo project CUTSS. She's dropped a snazzy and sonically diverse new four track collection today titled Paradise as part of group art exhibition Kaua E Whai I Ngā Horowai / Dont Go Chasing Waterfalls, opening this evening at Auckland's Studio One Toi Tū in Ponsonby. The multi-media exhibition runs until early August and celebrates mana wahine, mana takataapui and decolonisation in art, Timu states her sound and video contribution to the show "is an exploration through realms using whakapapa (past), dealing with continuous paradigm shifts (present) and the definition of paradise (future)." CUTSS is revered throughout Aotearoa for her killer live performances, does this release mean more gigs are on the cards? Who can say, take a trip to Paradise below...
'Kaua E Whai I Ngā Horowai / Dont Go Chasing Waterfalls' opens tonight at 5.00pm at Auckland's Studio One Toi Tū and runs to Thursday 2nd August.
