Tauranga’s longest running festival of alternative guitar-based music, Woodcock, had what was heralded to be its final instalment this past weekend. Hosting over thirty five bands from throughout Aotearoa, as well as a handful from Japan (including King Brothers and Vottones) and Australia (Levitating Churches), punters were treated to tunes of all persuasions including a surprise appearance from garage punk legends The D4, and the reunion of well-loved Auckland-based rockers The DHDFDs. There was live pro-wrestling taking place and even some light-hearted speaker-torching. Incredibly hard-working camera-wielder Ngamihi Pawa headed along and captured the fun.
