Auckland's The Biscuits Unveil 'Albatross' EP + Video
Auckland noise pop trio The Biscuits have a great summer lined up, they’re set to play at Tauranga’s Woodcock 2018 festival and have just dropped a four track Albatross EP on emerging Wellington label Ilk Ither. The catchy title track’s accompanying video is directed by Martin Sagadin who has also directed clips by Aldous Harding and Pickle Darling. We caught up with guitarist and singer Indira Neville, who talked about how the song is inspired by English poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s Rime of the Ancient Mariner, but written from a bird’s perspective…
“It’s basically the bird having a bit of a whinge about being tied to a grumpy sailor. We did plan to have much more footage of gannets and the ocean (for the video) but the dolls were so intriguing and pretty and menacing, lurking about on the sand and in the grass, and demanding we give them heads! So we went with that.”

Copies of ‘Albatross’ are available digitally and on 7” lathe cut record via Ilk Ither.
