Here's Five: Guitar Wolf Share Their Favourite Songs To Play Live
Ultra high energy Japanese rockers Guitar Wolf are back in New Zealand this week, to perform their kick ass tunes to up-for-it crowds across the nation. In anticipation of the sure to be legendary tour we asked guitarist and singer Seiji for the lowdown on his favourite Guitar Wolf songs to perform live. Check out his selections and enthusiastic commentary below, and don’t miss the opportunity to see this incredible live band in the flesh…
1. ‘Jet Generation’ - the title track from Guitar Wolf's fourth album released in 1999
I still can’t believe that I could make this song. I feel like the miracle happened. This song led Guitar Wolf to JETT success in the world.
2. ‘Can-nana-fever’ - first released as 7” single in 1998 and then re-recorded and released on Jet Generation
I have the number 1 motorcycle in the world. It’s 'KAWASAKI750RS' as known as 'Z2'. I’m crazy about it. When I get the highway with my 'Z2' I'm super excited.
3. ‘Beast Vibrator’ - from Beast Vibrators which they released and toured here in 2013
Hey, guys! You guys are so sloppy! Fuck off, people who were controlled by the computer!
A beast! Be a beast!!!
4. ‘T Rex From A Tiny Space Yojouhan’ - the title track from their latest album released in 2016
I used to live in the small room in the big city Tokyo alone. I didn’t have any success at all, and unfortunately also didn’t have any girlfriend. There were only an inferiority complex and a frustration in my mind. I thought I’d be a big star like a big T-Rex and then I would make people in the world love me in the near future. The strong passion I had at the time has still been creating myself.
5. ‘High Schooler Action’ - from Dead Rock released in 2007
This is how I want High School to be! Action! Action! Action!
You can catch Guitar Wolf live this week in Christchurch, Takaka, Wellington, Auckland and Tauranga, tour info is listed below…
