Press release:
Wellington based music crew Eyegum have announced their first lineup for the second year of their A Gathering in the Forest indie music festival.
Comprising bands from across the country as well as a few international acts, festival curator Joel Cosgrove says "we're pretty excited about the lineup, we hadn't planned on bringing any international acts over, but when some sweet bands ask to play, you don't say no".
The festival will follow a similar format to the first Gathering in the Forest, with one stage set in a picturesque valley near Whanganui, an extra day has been added (3 days and 3 nights of music) to allow more bands to preform.
Alongside the music Eyegum are also excited to announce partnerships with Whanganui's renown Lucky Bar in running an onsite bar, Lucky Jim's in running the festival food palace and the well-loved and treasured Jack Mitchell Anyon of Spacemonster and Article Cafe fame running the coffee, says Cosgrove "we're not mucking around this year, why faff around when you can get the best, people will roll with a lot of punches if they've got damn fine coffee to work with" and "Lucky Bar is Whanganui for a lot of touring bands, so if you can't play Lucky, you bring Lucky to you, seems like the sensible thing to do."
Lucky Jim's are rumoured to be buying a 25 kg bag of Special Blend, when asked to confirm this rumour, Jim refused to answer any questions.
Chief Builderer Frazer Dozer when asked about his thoughts on the festival said "leave me alone, I just want to build the things that need to be built and dig holes."
