LINEUP CHANGE Sadly, The Fairlight Choir are unable to play - but we're pleased to say that Fouler will admirably be stepping in to join us on the night.
---
Hail, Meteor! return to the Wellington stage for the first time in over a year. With the lead single ‘Sweet’ from their impending album topping the charts of the Student Radio Network, the band have been far from inactive, writing and recording in their various studios around the country. On May 9th they play tunes from their new album, along with Palmy’s glorious The Fairlight Choir and Wellington’s premier dark pop-ists, The Blue Summer at Underworld Tavern on Pirie Street. There will be volume, there will be harmonies of strange origins, there will be a whole lot of reverb and deafening sway.
Fouler
Pōneke/Tawa based “bashy guitar rock” band Fouler have spent the last few years writing, and playing sporadic shows across Te Ika-a-Māui. Playing cuts from their recently released EP ‘Summit’, and sharing the new batch of material they’ve been working on.
The Blue Summer
This rock five-piece from the heart of Pōneke summons both the sinister and the sublime. A fusion of gothic ambience, driving new-wave riffs, and a strangely dank groove.
Above the rich melodies, the lyrics soar and tear at the decaying fabric of humanity, conjuring tales of shadows and secrets - from serial murder to the suffocating grip of obsession, love, power, sacrifice, and betrayal.
Wellington's The Blue Summer is music for the restless, the rebellious, the morbid romantics, and the lost souls who find solace where passion and madness entwine.
Tickets $15 from Under The Radar. $20 on the door
