FALLING THROUGH album release celebration gig with Jay Clarkson and the Containers
with an opening set from Honey Robots.
Koha at door
A bona fide legend of NZ music, Jay Clarkson deserves our respect. Through her work across the years with the likes of They Were Expendable, The Expendables, and Breathing Cage, Jay has consistently delivered brilliance. Falling Through, recorded over the last few years, is set to be an instant delight, promising folky warmth and tinged with misty psychedelia. - Flying Out
A decade after her critically acclaimed Spur album, Jay Clarkson is back with another splendid LP, Falling Through. Says Jay, “It's been a long time coming and it's very satisfying to hear it sounding so rich and full. And beautiful.”
In the four decades of her career, the prolific singer-songwriter has performed and recorded as a solo artist but also collaborated with numerous musicians in bands They Were Expendable, The Expendables, Breathing Cage, The Matches, and currently The Spur Line.
Falling Through, recorded 2020 to 2022, reflects that development and acts as a monument to a band that is currently no longer active. The nine mesmerising songs that make up the album, steeped in folky warmth and tinged with misty psychedelia, are a salient statement from one of New Zealand’s most significant alternative rock artists.
