Auckland’s punk scene is about to get a two-level takeover as ACT UP Entertainment brings Punk Night to Ding Dong Lounge on Friday, 28 February. With live bands upstairs and DJs spinning nothing but punk downstairs, this is set to be a night of pure, unfiltered chaos.
Live Upstairs:
We’re stoked to announce CCTV, the Glen Innes-based five-piece punk band, will be taking the stage! Known for their loud, fast, and occasionally decent sound, CCTV is ready to bring their raw energy and uncompromising style to Ding Dong Lounge. Featuring Sean Hollier (vocals), Jocelyn Glen (bass), Maxine May (drums), Amos Chao (keys), and Evelyn Jones (guitar), CCTV is about to rip through the place as they celebrate the release of their debut EP, Austerity Blues!, dropping February 7, 2025. Get ready for a chaotic set full of attitude and punk grit.
Joining the lineup is The Bright Ideas—fresh-faced, fast-paced, first-wave-inspired garage punk straight out of Tāmaki Makaurau. If you like your punk raw and raucous, fill yer boots. Featuring Slade on guitar and vocals, Scruffy on drums, and Dylan on bass and BVs, they’re ready to bring the heat.
Downstairs:
On the decks, DJs Wastemaster and Drew Bang will be delivering a relentless mix of UK Punk, US Punk, Street Punk, Oi!, Ska, Horror Punk, Hardcore Punk, and more. Expect anthems from Sex Pistols, The Clash, Dead Kennedys, The Damned, The Misfits, Cock Sparrer, Buzzcocks, Sham 69, The Business, Black Flag, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Agnostic Front, Rancid, NOFX, The Bronx, IDLES, and countless other legends.
