The Undercurrent is proud to host the Interlopers for their debut Wellington city gig. Interlopers are a vehicle for the long-gestating dad-rock songbook of Andrew Armitage (acoustic guitar, piano and vocals) and the mum-core cello and vocals of Sarah Laing, complemented by Phil Peleton on bass and David Morgan on percussion. Calling on chamber pop, post-punk and alt-country traditions which combine time-honored melodic hooks with lyrical wit and wisdom, their new drummer described the sound as The Front Lawn meets Violent Femmes, so they could hardly say no to him joining the band.
