SOLO BANTON
After a long career in the reggae music business as a soundman and producer, Solo Banton transitioned to become a vocalist and recording artist through his connection with Kris Kemist of Reality Shock Records. Instantly recognized for his vintage deejay style, lyrical ingenuity, charisma, and irrepressible personality, Solo has left a significant impact on reggae music and culture worldwide. With three albums in partnership with Reality Shock Records—Walk Like Rasta (2010), Higher Levels (2012), and Old Raggamuffin (2019)—and a fourth album, In This Time, released in 2024 with France’s Irie Ites crew, Solo's discography is a testament to his talent. He has also released two EPs, Music Addict with Jahtari (2011) and My Music with Dubkasm (2020), along with numerous hit singles in collaboration with top producers like Mungo’s Hi Fi, Maffi, Conscious Sounds, Necessary Mayhem, and Roots Factory. Renowned for his high-energy, exciting performances, Solo has toured across the globe, captivating audiences in places as diverse as Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. His infectious personality and commanding stage presence have made him not only a sought-after artist but also a respected host and compère at major festivals. With several exciting new projects on the horizon, Solo Banton continues to solidify his reputation as a force to be reckoned with in reggae music.
