U.S. folk/prog-country singer-songwriter Izaak Opatz stops by Space Academy (Christchurch) to share his narrative, confessional, humor-inflected brand of American country while on a self-supported bike trip throughout Aotearoa.
He'll be joined by Adam Hattaway of Adam Hattaway and the Haunters.
Since 2018, Opatz has released three albums with Mama Bird Recording Co., including Hot & Heavy-Handed, a compilation of country covers. He's shared stages with Jonny Fritz, Jackson Browne, and Langhorne Slim, and won praise from RollingStone.com, who called him one of a kind, an eccentric singer-songwriter whom you not only connect with, but root for as he tries in vain to sort out his love life in songs he describes as “Nora Ephron Rom-Com-earnestness with a sense of humor.”
