Kanagawa Japan’s #1 rock vocalist DEATHRO will tour Aotearoa for the first time in Feb/March 2025, presented by Wrought Material and Chain Punk Baddie.
Beloved by the Tokyo punk underground, DEATHRO combines new wave, post-punk, and J-Rock into high-energy BEATROCK in the 1980’s Japanese tradition.
DEATHRO’s performance is ecstatic and powerful, while the lyrics are grounded in working class politics. DEATHRO has a punk mind and expresses it.
Amongst messages of solidarity, freedom of expression, and love for his hometown Kanagawa, DEATHRO tackles the injustice of colonisation and the oppression of the Palestinian people.
This might well be the only time DEATHRO visits our part of the world, so do not miss out!
DEATHRO will be joined by DISPLEASURE from Whanganui/Te Whanganui-a-Tara for all shows, and Te-Whanganui-a-Tara’s VARDA for the Te Waipounamu leg – and supported by local legends in each centre, including BIRD PARTY in Whanganui and DEB5000 in Tāmaki Makaurau.
DEATHRO showcases his high energy beatrock performances in an extensive journey across both Te Ika-a-Maui and Te Waiponamu this February/March, including a stop at the celebrated Newtown Festival.
Don't miss it!
