From the first bar, I said, “I like that.” I turned to my buddy, and he said, “Wow. This is good.”
BB and the Bullets had just played their first chords at Capital Blues, and they were off.
For the next two hours, they treated us to some blues tunes, some classics but with their own distinctive treatments, and some of their own music too.
And they are tremendous players.
Brian Baker, after some years wowing Australia, is joined by two local Whanganui musicians, bass player Johnny Keating (foundation member of the Whanganui Musicians Club), and drummer Brad MacMillan.
This is a tight, well-rehearsed band with rocking bass, hard-driving John Bonham-style drums, and excellent guitar on top.
Come and see what you missed.
