Yowza! Prepare your ears for something drive-y —Dunedin’s own Paul Cathro is breaking out from his decade-long DIY demo phase to deliver Distance, the first single from his highly anticipated (and as yet unnamed) album. Like all of us, even Paul’s waiting to find out what he’ll call it. The first single, Distance is a sucker punch to the gut of a song, powered by a killer lineup of some of Aotearoa’s indie royalty. Ouch.
Cathro has spent the last few years touring nationally and internationally as part of various projects—most notably Ha The Unclear.
He leads this solo-project on guitar and vocals; joined by bassist Joshua Worthington-Church (Princess Chelsea, Exploding Rainbow Orchestra) whose basslines are as lush as his mullet, Jamie Hannah (Spawts, Two Cartoons) on drums - delivering frenetic beats that your earholes will like heaps as, and Chamian Keay will be featuring on violin (what a treat!).
‘Distance’ drops Friday, 15th November - followed by Cathro and his crew taking over Ralph’s in Mt Eden on Sunday, 24th November for a one-off release show. Yowza!
