Soft Chaos is an experimental electronic acoustic trio led by Nathan Haines, featuring Joe Kaptein on synthesizers and Elijah Whyte on drums. The group breaks musical boundaries with a danceable sound that connects seamlessly in performance. Distinct from Nathan Haines’ solo work and album releases, this project allows him to explore new creative directions alongside Joe and Elijah, two emerging talents from Aotearoa. Together, they create an innovative sound that continuously evolves and pushes the limits of their craft.
“We have a starting point, but we always push further out into the unknown,” says Nathan.
This performance is in collaboration with the Wellington Jazz Festival, a key event in Aotearoa’s music calendar that brings top local and international talent to Wellington. It's a city-wide celebration of jazz that energizes the capital with vibrant sounds and performances.
