Frau Knotz 'Nextraterrestrial' EP Release Show

Fresh off releasing her futuristic debut EP 'Nextraterrestrial', Ngāmotu-based producer, DJ and singer Frau Knotz is returning to Te Papaoeia for a live performance of her otherworldly soundscapes with support from electronic artists Synthetic Children and Just George.

BIO:

Frau Knotz toggles between whimsical fantasies and dark truths, switches propulsive rhythms and expansive balladry and tunes glamour with gameplay to concoct elixirs of electronica. The Ngāmotu-based producer, DJ and singer's original songs take a painterly composition approach, using genres as colours and textures on her tracks. Brush strokes of R&B, ambient, trip-hop, techno, experimental beats and spoken word have been daubed with discernment across a unique canvas. Frau Knotz vows to take you on a deep sonic odyssey through her 3-dimensional world.

Synthetic Children is the Te Papaioea based hardware electronic project of Celina Goacher - fka Ce (Khaki Department, Bitch Whistle). Known for wonky, 2 stepping soundtracks to being trans on the dark, wide streets of Palmerston North, Synthetic Children has often been dubbed depressive or dissociative club music during the 'Everything's Perpetual' era. Post-album, the project now endeavours to approach a new era of more conscious, emotional dance music. These new works play in the spaces between emotionally ambiguous meditations, and joyous queer pop songs about loving your girlfriend. Synthetic Children continues to experiment with expression via playful synthesis, the rediscovery of voice, and of course the rungle use of distorted bass tones.
