Outlaw Alt-Country group Shaky Hollows bring new energy to the folk genre.
Coming together in early 2022, they have put together an albums worth of original songs while gaining momentum in the local scene, playing shows to appreciative audiences.
Shaky Hollows play traditional string instruments with modern songwriting sensibilities. They twist together a blend of Americana, Folk and Alt-Country to create a uniquely wistful sound while singer/songwriter Casey Hilder weaves narrative tales of life throughout.
Lara Rose is a Dunedin-based singer songwriter. She has established her style of indie-folk, using writing to reflect on aspects of her own experiences. Recently, she toured the nation as one half of the folk duo, Tall Folk. In January 2022 they released their debut album ‘Wiser’, recorded at Port Chalmer’s Chick’s Hotel and brought to life by Dunedin’s most talented musicians.
‘Recorded in Port Chalmers by Tom Bell and mastered by David Glasser (Grateful Dead, Mandolin Orange) at Airshow Mastering in Colorado. This is as fine an album – be it local or international, country or folk or what have you – as you are likely to hear, recommended Graham Reid.
Lara Rose will perform both her writings from this album as well as new works.
