Gig Information

Join us for a night of great tunes for a great cause!

We are People Against Prisons Aotearoa (PAPA). We’re hosting this gig to raise funds for our ongoing mahi in our fight for prison abolition. All proceeds go towards directly towards our work.

Don’t miss Rihnanas, Edera (Duo), Giantess, and Wiri Donna joining forces in support of our mahi to bring you a wonderful night.

So grab a ticket and come along to see these amazingly talented Te Whanganui-a-Tara bands and support our fight for a fairer, safer and more just Aotearoa.

Please select the ticket price that feels comfortable to you, although we would love the support, we understand that times are tough at the moment.

If price is a barrier but you want to come and support us, or you are someone with lived experience within the justice system please get in touch, we would love for you to come along.

If tickets do not sell out online there will be door sales on the night, but these will be limited so make sure you secure a ticket now!

There will be light snacks, water and soft drinks at the venue, but if you want anything else you will have to bring this yourself.

Please note there will be people taking photography on the night. If you do not wish to be in photos please let someone from PAPA know when you arrive

If you would like to make a donation to support our mahi please either bring cash on the night (there will be merch available as well as a donation box) or visit

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So who are we?

We are a prison abolitionist organisation working for a fairer, safer, and more just Aotearoa.

The evidence is clear, prisons don’t reduce crime, they are discriminatory spaces of incredible violence that only double down on inequality and give more power to those who already have it.

Prisons have never kept our communities safe and never will. While prisons remain we will never achieve social justice and equality.

That is why we are prison abolitionists. We believe that there is a better way to achieve justice for everyone and prisons cannot be part of the way that we get there.
