Gig Information

Tāmaki Makaurau’s Dick Move are on the brink of releasing their second studio album, Wet. To celebrate, Dick Move will be vannin', slammin', and (slap!) hammin' (???) around the motu this October. Joined by their pals, The Recently Deceived and Edible, Wet will be delivered live and direct to YOU! Get in the pit.

Party-punk agitators Dick Move formed in the depths of Karangahape Road’s Whammy Bar in 2019 and have since become an essential voice for all those that are fired up to make change in the world. Wet is the band's second studio release and contains 13 confronting and empowering tracks, taking aim at society’s most pernicious elements, from landlords and social media fuckos, to the harsh realities of neo-liberalism and capitalistic competition. Throw in a couple of party tunes and love songs paired with catchy riffs and riotous hooks to complete the full-noise collection of shared experiences in the modern age.

Wet makes a welcome addition to the Dick Move’s catalogue of blink-and-you’ll-miss-it punk anthems and follows on from their 2020 debut Chop!. The 13 tracks on Wet were lovingly produced, recorded and mixed by Peter Ruddell (Wax Chattels, Sulfate) at The Beths’ studio on Karangahape Road, and mastered by Wellington legend James Goldsmith.

Dick Move’s latest offering will be out the week before New Zealand’s general election, with the band’s focus squarely on making positive change in this increasingly messed up world. Available on vinyl, CD and digitally, Wet is out via 1:12 Records on 6th October, 2023.
