As a great man once said, “Woah… DOUBLE RAINBOW!”
That’s right, the Exploding Rainbow Orchestra show happening on Sunday 27th August at Neck of the Woods just couldn’t contain all the energy and talent and colour and pizzazz and wonder we’ve put together, so we’ve added a second show!
Monday 28th August at Neck of the Woods, with the same extraordinary lineup of songwriters showcasing a new song each: Delaney Davidson, Don McGlashan, Mainard Larkin (Randa), Yolanda Fagan (Na Noise), Geoff Ong, Hollie Fulbrook, Lilith and Shay of Fessh, Louisa Nicklin, Na’amah Cheiban, Paul Cathro, Rachel Clarke, and Steph Brown (Lips)!
An ensemble of Tāmaki Makaurau’s finest musicians and composers, the 26-piece Exploding Rainbow Orchestra will provide the multi-hued, orchestral backing bonanza behind these guest vocalists. And yes, every one of these remarkable songsmiths has penned an entirely new work for this performance, with the Exploding Rainbow Orchestra members each contributing their parts to the backing arrangement, be it on strings, horns, or other noise making devices.
Will there be at least 27 people on stage at once At least! Will it be chaotic Gloriously so Will it blow minds, bend dimensions, and save souls Entirely likely! Expect a bombastic, colourful and totally unique musical experience that celebrates the magic music can make.
Tickets for both shows (Sunday selling fast) available from www.undertheradar.co.nz, with limited unwaged priced tickets to ensure everyone gets a chance to witness this spectacular spectacle.
